Brad James Swallow: Swamp Born Blues Rocker from Louisiana's Heartland

​

Hailing from the sultry bayous of  South Louisiana, Brad James Swallow is a gritty blues/rock troubadour whose music pulses with the raw soul of the south. Born and raised in the country of the outskirts of Oplelousas and Washington, Louisiana, Swallow picked up the guitar at 14, immersing himself in the electric stew of British rock icons like Eric Clapton, Allman Brothers and B.B. King, while soaking up the infectious rhythms of his native Louisiana Swamp Pop, Cajun grooves and Zydeco fire. Over four decades, he's carved out a career gigging in smoky clubs from Lafayette to New Orleans, channeling the humid nights and resilient spirit of the Atchafalaya Basin into every riff and lyric.

Swallow's early days were forged in the company of legends. He cut his teeth alongside Blues Hall of famers Roscoe Chenier and "Lil' Buck Sinegal, who's backed everyone from Paul Simon to Tab Benoit. Bassist Lee Allen Zeno, who played for Buckwheat Zydeco who rounds out the influences that shaped Swallow's sound - a potent blend of Delta moan and Gulf Coast swing.
